About Us

Our mission is to promote the mental health and total well-being of the communities we serve with respect and dignity for all.

We are a private, non-profit agency established in 1959.

Our goal is to provide a broad scope of quality mental health services to people of all ages and economic backgrounds who reside in Cottonwood, Jackson, Nobles, Pipestone, and Rock counties. We do not deny services based on ability to pay, race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, or sexual orientation. SWMH is licensed by the Minnesota Dept. of Human Services and has fully qualified credentialed staff who offer a variety of mental health services. Our multidisciplinary staff includes social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health therapists, mental health practitioners, and peer support specialists. Consulting psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners see clients by appointment.

As a National Health Service Corp site, we promise to accept all health insurance plans, medical assistance, medicare, and other forms of third party payments. Residents of our five county area who do not have insurance may be eligible for adjusted fees based on family size and income.
